The new Central Florida Minor League baseball team doesn’t have a name yet, but it does have an official list of game dates for early 2017.
According to a news release Wednesday from Central Florida Baseball, the team will play four home games against the Daytona Tortugas starting April 6, followed by three against the Dunedin Blue Jays.
Then, they’ll go on the road to play against the St. Lucie Mets on April 13.
The Osceola County Stadium will also be seeing affiliates of the Tampa Bay Rays and Miami Marlins playing there in 2017. The Charlotte Stone Crabs, affiliated with the Rays, will play a four-game series July 7-10 and the Marlins-affiliated Jupiter Hammerheads will play a three-game series Aug. 18-20.
“The excitement continues to build as fans can expect more announcements in the coming weeks and months with details on our new name, logo, special promotional nights and individual ticket pricing,” Team President Joe Harrington said. “We’re excited about what lies ahead and have some spectacular plans in store for next year.”
The team will have 70 home games in 2017, with 10 on Thursday and Friday and 11 on Saturday.
