As announced on the Disney Parks Blog, those with Platinum and Platinum Plus passes and the Premier Passport will be able to sign up for “complimentary special preview opportunities planned before the land’s opening.” “Capacity is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis,” Disney said in the blog post. “More information and registration details for previews will be shared at a later date.” Special access for annual passholders harkens back to the opening of Pandora — the World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2017, when 10 days of previews were held. Passholders were then left out in the cold when Toy Story Land opened in June 2018. When Disneyland opened its version of Galaxy’s Edge, several tiers of the park’s annual passes were shut out from even entering the park thanks to blackout dates, and no passholder previews were held. Offering privileged access to annual passholders could relieve some of the demand for the new 14-acre expansion, one of the most heavily-hyped additions in Disney theme park history. Disney World has already planned to open the park at 6 a.m. through November 1 to accommodate the expected crowds (with early access limited to on-site hotel guests after September 1) and the land’s only attraction at opening, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, will not accept Fastpass reservations.
