Rob Panepinto touts suburban officials endorsements in Orange mayoral race Scott Powers 07/24/2018 Our Politics Orange County mayoral candidate Rob Panepinto announced endorsements Tuesday from ten current and former Central Florida elected officials, mostly from the suburbs of Edgewood, Winter Park, Ocoee, and Winter Garden. The endorsements are highlighted by that of Edgewood Mayor Ray Bagshaw. “Rob Panepinto is the only candidate who has a real plan to grow jobs, tackle affordable housing and offers a private sector point of view,” Bagshaw stated in a news release issued by Panepinto’s campaign. Panepinto, an entreprenuer and business community leader from Winter Park, faces Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings and Orange County Commissioner Pete Clarke in the Aug. 28 election. If no one gets more than 50 percent of the vote, the top two advance to a Nov. 6 showdown. The other endorsements include former Winter Park Mayor Ken Bradley; former Florida House Member Steve Precourt; Winter Park Commissioners Pete Weldon and Sarah Sprinkle; Ocoee Commissioner Richard Firstner; WInter Garden Commissioner Colin Sharman and Lisa Bennett; Winter Garden Commissioner Bob Buchanan; and Edgewood Councilman John Dowless, a political consultant who has been employed by Panepinto’s campaign. “I am honored to have the support of these community leaders,” Panepinto stated in the release. “I have a plan to make Orange County even better and I am thrilled with the momentum we are seeing as people learn more about my vision.” Leave a Reply Cancel ReplyYour email address will not be published.CommentName* Email* Website Notify me of follow-up comments by email.
