U.S. Senate candidate Patrick Murphy will be appearing at the 2016 Florida Education Association Delegate Assembly in Orlando Saturday morning to make a speech.
The event will take place at the Rosen Center Hotel at 9840 International Drive in Orlando at 8:45 a.m.
The assembly is an annual event in which the FEA’s highest decision-making body comes together to plan, debate, and discuss education issues and the decisions made involving education.
The delegates represent local affiliate unions, including student members, retired members, and others. The delegates are selected to bring to the table the concerns of their respective unions.
The delegates determine the FEA’s strategy and budget, as well as legislative plans, new business items, and resolutions. In addition, they vote by a secret ballot on items proposed to FEA Constitution and Bylaws, and they elect FEA executive officers and at-large members of the NEA Board of Directors.
