Not wasting any time as this election cycle finally ends, Patricia Rumph is the first candidate to announce a run for Orange County Commission District 2 in the 2018 election.
She’s also the first candidate in the county as a whole to announce a run for any seat, the Supervisor of Elections’ website states.
She will be facing incumbent Bryan Nelson for the seat, which consists of Apopka, Eatonville, Ocoee, Pine Hills and Winter Park.
Rumph previously ran for the seat in 2014 against a slew of other candidates, including Eatonville Vice Mayor Alvin Moore, Bridgett Yvette Sykes, Attorney Greg Jackson, and Professor Prince Brown. She lost to Moore in the primary and then Moore lost to Nelson in the general election.
Rumph is currently the Secretary for the Orange County Democratic Party.
Rumph declined to comment to FloridaPolitics.com on her announcement.
