The Orlando Sentinel has made a choice in the House District 30 race — Republican incumbent Bob Cortes.
Cortes was simply the better choice over challenger Ryan Yadav, the Sentinel’s editorial said.
“Cortes is a former mayor and city commissioner in Longwood who has brought a welcome perspective as a small businessman to the Legislature,” the Sentinel editorial said. “He won’t forget about the urgency of dealing with workers’ compensation. We think he’s the better choice in this race.”
Cortes was flattered the Sentinel considered his prior experience as a plus.
“I appreciate the Sentinel’s recognition of my business and local government experience, and I am glad to have their endorsement,” said Cortes. “I plan to keep working hard in this campaign, and I look forward to continuing to tackle the tough issues before us in Tallahassee.”
