The Orange County Farm Bureau has deemed Betsy VanderLey the candidate in Orange County District 1 most reliable on agricultural issues.
The Bureau is a part of Florida Farm Bureau, the state’s largest agricultural organization. They pick candidates who indicate a willingness to work toward the best interests of agriculture, and they have more than 140,000 member families in 60 counties.
VanderLey said she does indeed recognize the importance and gravity of protecting agriculture.
“Agriculture in Orange County has a significant impact on our local economy. I am grateful to be supported by these hard working members of the agricultural community,” she said.
VanderLey is facing opponent Bobby Olszewski in the race for District 1, which is an open seat as current commissioner Scott Boyd is terming out soon.
