Fun Spot America’s Orlando amusement park near International Drive has now reopened. Bucking the policies proposed by larger Disney and Universal parks, face masks will not be required for guests. Masks are not required but encouraged. — FunSpotAmerica (@FunSpotAmerica) May 22, 2020 A livestream on the park’s Facebook page showed the first guest did not wear a mask. While most employees were donning a face covering, at least one park worker in the video was seen without a mask. The park’s website mentions masks are required of food and beverage employees as well as any workers who handle cash. Fun Spot CEO John Arie, Jr. did not respond to Orlando Rising’s question about why masks are not required for guests. Fun Spot is instituting other operational changes aimed at limiting the spread of the COVID-19 virus, including: Wiping down railings and surfaces regularly Reconfiguring outdoor seating and queues to allow for physical distancing Additional hand sanitizer stations throughout the park Park employees will also have to undergo a temperature check prior to their shift. Fun Spot is not requiring such checks for guests, deviating from policies instituted at both Disney Springs and Universal CityWalk in their recent reopenings. Fun Spot America locations had remained open until March 23, a week after larger parks like Disney World, Universal Orlando and SeaWorld Orlando had temporarily shuttered due to the pandemic. At this time Fun Spot’s Kissimmee park remains closed. Leave a Reply Cancel ReplyYour email address will not be published.CommentName* Email* Website Notify me of follow-up comments by email.
