The name of the new dining location means “house of the artisan,” according to Disney food and beverage spokesperson Alex Dunlap. The restaurant will showcase “the natural beauty of Japan” with dishes inspired by “the wonderful collaboration between nature and takumi, the artisan.” “The upscale dinner menu will highlight wagyu beef in a sublime setting, and guests interested in the ultimate experience will be able to indulge in a multi-course tasting menu featuring traditional tea service,” Dunlap wrote on the Disney Parks Blog. “Signature cocktails and premium sake will be available along with a wine and craft beer menu.” Concept art of the Water Room at Takumi-Tei at Epcot’s Japan pavilion (Disney) Takumi-Tei will be operated by Mitsukoshi, the Tokyo-based department store chain that operates the merchandise and dining locations in the Japan pavilion, including its two existing restaurants, Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining. Since the restaurant has not announced a firm opening date, no reservations are currently available. Takumi-Tei is one of the more low-profile additions coming to Epcot over the next several years. The massive overhaul of the park includes a redesigned entrance plaza, a new space-themed restaurant, a new Future World pavilion and several new attractions, including Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in the nearby France pavilion.
