Kyle Busch wins for the third time in 2016 Bob Sparks 05/07/2016 Our Fun Kyle Busch took the lead on a restart with less than 20 laps remaining Saturday night and went on to win the GoBowling 400 at Kansas Speedway. Busch managed to hold off Kevin Harvick to win his third race of the season. Martin Truex, Jr. appeared to have the superior car, but he was forced to make two pit stops late in the race, opening the door for Busch and others. Truex led for 172 if the race’s 267 laps, but wound up finishing 14th. Busch’s victory was his third of the season and the first of his career at Kansas Speedway. He was not able to finish any of his last four races there. “This is pretty big,” said Busch from Victory Lane. “There’s been a lot of rough days in Kansas, that’s for sure. Lots of good ones, too, but I can’t say enough about everyone on this team.” The native of Las Vegas, Nev. has proven to be one of the greatest talents in his sport. The defending Sprint Cup champion has now won 37 Sprint Cup races in his career. Of his last 32 starts, Busch has won eight times. In addition, he was won 80 in the Xfinity Series and 45 Camping World Truck Series races. The latest truck victory came Friday night. Finishing third behind Busch and Harvick was Kurt Busch followed by Matt Kenseth and Ryan Blaney. NASCAR favorite Dale Earnhardt, Jr. finished in 15th place. Next Sunday the drivers head for Dover International Speedway to compete in the AAA 400 Drive for Autism.
