U.S. Rep. Darren Soto is opening a new congressional office Thursday at the Orlando Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lake Nona.
The new office, in addition to his main office in Kissimmee and offices in Haines City, Lake Wales and Winter Haven, is his first in Orange County, and will include the focus of helping veterans of Florida’s 9th Congressional District with VA matters, as well as assisting other constituents with concerns with federal agencies.
The new office is located in the VA Medical Center, suite 1F806. The office will be open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“We are thrilled to announce our new office space inside the VA Medical Center in Lake Nona, where we will be providing convenient assistance to our district’s veterans. This new location will greatly benefit veterans already living in the facilities, people who may have limited mobility and those traveling to the VA for their appointments,” Soto stated in a news release. “My staff will hold weekly office hours to help with all veteran-related casework, from navigating claims at the Dept. of Veterans Affairs and claiming other earned benefits to disability concerns. We’re here and ready to serve!”
Soto is in a tight re-election battle with the district’s previous congressman, former U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, in the Aug. 28 Democratic primary. The winner then faces Republican Wayne Liebnitzky in the November election.
