Orange County School Board Member Christine Moore has qualified for the ballot in her quest to be elected to the Orange County Commission in District 2.
Moore, of Apopka, qualified by petition Wednesday, making her the fourth candidate to make it onto the ballot in District 2, covering west Orange County.
She faces Apopka grower Mark Byrd, former Orange County Commissioner and former state Rep. Fred Brummer of Apopka, and Patricia Rumph of Orlando, who all previously qualified for the ballot via petition. A fifth announced candidate, Antuan Bibbs, has not yet qualified in the race.
They seek to succeed Orange County Commissioner Rod Love, who took office only this week. Gov. Rick Scott appointed Love to replace former Commissioner Bryan Nelson, who was elected mayor of Apopka. Love is not a candidate to seek a full term for the post.
