Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer has endorsed Republican Mike Miller in the race for State House District 47.
Dyer, a moderate Democrat, said Miller had done much for the community.
“Mike Miller is an effective and pragmatic leader,” Dyer said. “He has supported Orlando’s fight against homelessness, voted against destructive environmental practices, and supports our diverse values. That’s why he has earned my support.”
In the Orlando area, Miller is currently working on enhancing the hub of Medical City, increasing job creation, protecting “home rule” for local municipalities against Tallahassee regulations and assisting law enforcement and road construction.
He said Dyer’s endorsement was a welcome one.
“I am honored to have Mayor Dyer’s support for my election to the Florida House”, said Miller. “We have worked across party lines on many issues facing our community. I am grateful for his confidence in me and I look forward to working together in the future.”
Miller is facing Democrat Beth Tuura in the race for HD 47.
