Tomorrow, Floridians representing “a diverse array of communities and backgrounds” plan to join together at Lake Eola for a Women’s Rally.
The intent of the rally is to show solidarity with the Women’s March on Washington going on today protesting the election of new President Donald Trump, and to stand up for women’s rights.
“The rally will provide a forum for women and other marginalized groups to gather united, to focus on issues which affect and impact our lives, the lives of our families, and our communities,” the press release states. “The rally will seek to inspire those in attendance to get involved as well as highlight the importance of protecting our health & safety, workplace & community, religious, ethnic and identity parity.”
The event will be nonpartisan and inclusive, open to “anyone who supports women’s rights.”
The event will take place Saturday, Jan. 21, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Walt Disney Amphitheatre at Lake Eola Park. For more information, check the website.
