Orlando City  SC have per several unconfirmed media reports  dipped back into the transfer market to sign Júlio Baptista. The 34 year-old Brazilian attacking player most recently was featuring for Cruzeiro in his domestic league. Baptista had a star studded career in Europe between 2003 and 2011 featuring for four big clubs – Sevilla, Real Madrid, Arsenal and AS Roma. He earned 47 caps for Brazil and was a member of the nation’s 2007 Copa America winning squad.

The Brazilian can serve as an attacking midfielder or a backup striker to Cyle Larin. His experience and versatility should serve the Lions well if he signs.

While the news remains unconfirmed, former Brazil teammate Kaká welcomed Baptisa to Orlando.
