Orange County Commission candidate Nicolette Springer has received the endorsement of Democratic state Sen. Victor Torres in her quest to be elected to the open seat representing District 4.
Springer is in a crowded field for the election to fill the seat being vacated by term-limited Commissioner Jennifer Thompson. Also in the race are Kevin Ballinger, Maribel Gomez Cordero, Susan Makowski, and Gina Perez-Calhoun. The election is August 28, and if no one gets more than 50 percent of the votes the top two will meet again on Nov. 6.
“Nicolette is a passionate mother who is actively engaged in her community and has demonstrated she has the integrity and ability to represent the people which is why proudly endorse her campaign for Orange County Commission, District 4,” Torres stated in a news release issued by Springer’s campaign.
The district covers much of southeast Orange County and Torres’ state Senate District 15 includes more than half of that territory.
“Senator Torres is a life-long public servant and I’m honored to receive his endorsement. He is a champion for a livable wage, equality in the workplace, and access to healthcare,” Springer stated in the release. “I’m incredibly grateful for his dedication to improving the quality of life for the residents in my district. I look forward to serving our community together.”
