Orange County School Board candidate Heather Traynham has picked up the endorsement of former state representative and child advocate Dick Batchelor in her quest to be elected to the Orange County School Board in District 1.

“Heather is a champion of our children. She has the perfect mix of passion, knowledge, and experience, and will bring a wealth of leadership to the School Board,” Batchelor stated in a news release issued by Traynham’s campaign.

Traynham, of Winter Park, faces Angie Gallo of Orlando and Terry Rooth of Winter Park in the August 28 election. They seek to succeed Joie Cadle in representing east Orange County. If no one gets more than 50 percent, the top two will move on to a November showdown.

“I am so honored to have Dick’s support,” Traynham stated in the release. “He has dedicated his life to helping the children of Orange County in so many ways. We share a passion in this regard, and I look forward to working with him to continue to improve the lives of our children.”
